The Scandinavian Poker Awards is hosted by PokerStars and held in association with Scandinavian poker media partners Ace Magazine (Denmark), Norsk Poker Magasin (Norway) and Poker Magazine (Sweden). The awards were initiated by PokerStars to pay tribute to the outstanding achievements of Scandinavian poker players on the European and international poker scene. The Scandinavian Poker Awards were launched on the eve of the European Poker Tour Copenhagen tournament in January 2007.

Each year nominees are chosen by an online vote. Last year, hundreds of Scandinavian poker players and enthusiasts joined in by voting for their favourite player from their respective country. The final shortlist was made by a selected jury - five talented poker players from Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
